Field Application Engineer (m/f/d)

Technica Engineering GmbH is a manufacturing electronics company in the field of vehicle development. We develop and produce our own software and electronic products, as well as providing consulting services to our customers for new development and test projects. Our technical specialization in the field of automotive Ethernet and ECU development enables us to offer technical solutions on topics such as embedded ECUs, on-board networks, ADAS, security, body function, comfort function, gateway and many more.

We are currently offering you a position as

Field Application Engineer (m/f/d)
in permanent employment in Munich.

Main functions with the team:

• Identification, root cause analysis and support for problems in test setups, both internally and externally at the customer.
• Working with diagnostic tools at protocol level on Ethernet and legacy buses such as CAN, LIN, ...
• Analysing provided data, configuration files, or traces to determine the cause.
• Building test environments for targeted reproduction of issues for diagnostic purposes.
• Manage issues using the Jira ticket system.

Your day-to-day tasks will include providing technical support to customers and analysing the data provided, be it setup, configuration or trace evaluation, to identify potential issues. You will work closely with our internal engineering teams and be in direct contact with our customers. A certain willingness to travel is expected due to the field work.

• Completed degree or technical training in the field of electrical engineering, automotive engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, or similar educational paths. 
  
• Effective problem diagnosis and debugging skills. 
• Strong communication skills to work in a coordinated manner with various stakeholders. Knowledge in the areas of Ethernet, networking, BUS systems (hardware, communication protocols). 
• Proficiency in English at a communicative level (at least B2). 
• Experience in the automotive industry at Tier-1, Tier-2, or OEM level is desirable. 
• Experience with analysis tools such as Wireshark, CANoe, or similar is advantageous.
